François Engels, director of OSPAS, was the keynote speaker of the Inclusive Innovation Evening at AmazonEU

What happens when you bring together art, accessibility, and a room full of people who genuinely care? You get an evening that stays with you.

On September 28, AmazonEU hosted the Inclusive Innovation Evening in their buildings in Luxembourg-Kirchberg — an evening that brought together Amazonians, business leaders, and members of Luxembourg's nonprofit community to celebrate inclusive innovation and accessibility.

Over the course of September, more than 30 artists of all abilities came together in workshops with Special Olympics Luxembourg and Autisme Luxembourg to create original artwork — pieces that were then displayed and auctioned during the evening. Through the silent auction and generous donations, we raised over €10,000, with every cent going directly back to our partner charities.

François Engels, director of OSAPS, underlined how critical the conversation around accessible products, services, and workplaces truly is — not just for the economic operators, but for society.

He also pointed out that we should not just talk about people with disabilities or their needs and wishes, but that we should speak to them directly and involve them in the projects right from the start. Nobody knows better what the needs of those affected are than the people who have a disability themselves.

Inclusive innovation is not a one-evening conversation. It is a commitment — to building products, services, and workplaces where everyone belongs.
