Micro-enterprises
A micro-enterprise is a business
- that employs fewer than 10 people and has an annual turnover not exceeding €2,000,000, or
- that employs fewer than 10 people and has a total annual balance sheet not exceeding €2,000,000
If you do not (yet) have any figures on which to base your assessment, you are automatically considered a microenterprise. Microenterprises benefit from certain simplifications:
- in terms of services, they are not affected by the law
- in terms of products, if they submit a derogation notice, they do not need to provide supporting evidence
- guides and tools tailored to their needs are provided to help them comply
Why ensure accessibility?
Micro-enterprises are not required to make certain services accessible.
However, compliance has significant economic benefits:
Compliance is a guarantee of quality
We have all had bad experiences with poorly designed documents, forms, websites or devices. Applying accessibility requirements ensures a better experience for all users and customers.
Accessibility is at the forefront of technology
Accessibility requirements reflect the latest developments in technology, ergonomics and usability and are continuously updated.
This will have a positive impact on your company's image.
The scope of application will expand
Sooner or later, regulations will become more extensive and stricter for all economic operators. Those who are prepared will stay ahead of the competition and be able to position themselves in the European market.
Hospitality, crafts and commerce
Most micro-enterprises are in the hospitality, crafts and retail sectors.
