One in four people has a motor, sensory, mental or intellectual impairment, functional limitations related to ageing or temporary limitations.
The Law of 8 March 2023 on accessibility requirements for products and services aims to
- ensure better access to certain products and services, especially for older people and users with special needs,
- harmonize accessibility rules for those products and services at European level.
Our Procedures
Declaration of non-compliance
In the event that your product or service is not (or not yet) legally compliant on 28 June 2025, a declaration of non-compliance must be submitted to OSAPS.
The following is required to determine non-compliance and achieve compliance:
- conduct an internal assessment,
- create a register of non-compliances,
- draw up a plan with corrective measures.
Exemption
The accessibility requirementsto products and services shall apply only to the extent that compliance:
- does not require a significant change resulting in the fundamental alteration of its basic nature,
- does not result in the imposition of a disproportionate burden.
If you consider benefitting from such an exemption, you need to inform OSAPS.
