You are affected by the law
The obligations of service providers are detailed in article 25 of the law.
They apply to service contracts concluded on or after 28 June 2025.
Service contracts concluded before that date may continue without modification until their expiry, or until 28 June 2030 at the latest.
Please note: This transition period only applies to contracts! The services themselves must be compliant from 28 June 2025!
Obligations of service providers
- Service providers shall ensure that they design and provide accessible services.
- Service providers shall establish the necessary information and explain how the services meet accessibility requirements. The information shall be made available to the public in written and oral form. Service providers shall retain this information for as long as the service is available.
- Service providers shall ensure that the provision of services remains compliant. Any changes to characteristics, applicable requirements, standards or technical specifications shall be duly taken into account.
- In the event of non-compliance of the service, providers shall take the necessary corrective measures and immediately inform the OSAPS, providing details of the non-compliance and any corrective measures taken.
- Service providers shall provide the OSAPS with all necessary information and cooperate with the OSAPS on any corrective measures.
Exemptions from the requirements of the law are possible in two cases:
- making the product or service accessible constitutes a fundamental change and alters its nature
- making the product or service accessible constitutes a disproportionate burden on the economic operator
The criteria for reporting an exemption are detailed in article 16 of the law.
