Craftsmanship
The elegance of the refined gesture
People become artisans out of passion: a passion for precision, for a job well done and for passing on unique expertise.
OSAPS shares this commitment to quality. Providing a seamless experience for people with disabilities honours this passion, expands the customer base and enhances the company's commitment.
More than an obligation, accessibility is the future of open and inclusive craftsmanship. A service that is accessible to all is a guarantee of professionalism and quality.
Compliance
If you offer information, booking, ordering or payment services online and are not considered a micro-enterprise, you are affected by the Law of 8 March 2023 on the accessibility requirements for products and services and must comply with it.
Find the resources that OSAPS has developed specifically for the craft sector to help you get started on your compliance project with complete peace of mind.
In the ‘Your project’ section, you can generate a roadmap to guide you through each step.
Good to know: Even if you are not affected by the law, you can still choose to comply. This is voluntary and can be done at your own pace.

Interview with Tom Oberweis, co-director of Oberweis
‘Accessibility is a requirement that matches what we want to offer: excellence for all.’

Q: Mr Oberweis, why did you decide to commit to digital accessibility?
👉 Tom Oberweis:
Because our mission at Oberweis has always been to share the taste for excellence with as many people as possible. And nowadays, that also includes our website. If someone can't place an order, can't read our menus, or simply can't find the information they need because they are visually impaired or use a screen reader, then we're not living up to our standards.
Q: How did this awareness come about in-house?
👉 Tom:
It came about naturally, through discussions with our communications team. They are committed, inquisitive employees who were receptive to the support offered by OSAPS. They took the issue to heart, and I congratulate them for that. That's also what Oberweis is all about: empowering everyone to help the company move forward.
Q: Your website is currently being redesigned. Is accessibility part of the specifications?
👉 Tom:
Absolutely. The project has been entrusted to a specialist agency, with a view to incorporating European standards in this area. However, this is not the only objective: the team responsible for content is also working to improve the clarity of product descriptions, the readability of texts and the fluidity of navigation for a more universal experience.
Q: How do you see accessibility in the context of a heritage company like yours?
👉 Tom:
At Oberweis, we are proud of our history, but we don't live in the past. Accessibility, like sustainable development and digitalisation, is part of the continuous renewal that we have been pursuing for years. It's also a way of preparing for the future — the future that the ‘next gen’, Jeff and I are building together.
Q: Speaking of which, the ‘next gen’ is set to take over. Is this part of their vision for the company?
👉 Tom:
Of course. Jeff, like me, believes in an open, inclusive, forward-looking company. The “next gen” embodies excellence in everything we do. Accessibility is part of this approach, driven by our commitment to respect, goodwill and social responsibility. Offering an inclusive, high-quality experience reflects our values and sets the stage for a bright future.
Q: Do you have a message for other Luxembourg companies?
👉 Tom:
Yes. I would say: don't wait for the law to force you to do it. See accessibility as an opportunity to open your doors to other communities, improve your communication and showcase your values. And surround yourself with support. There are resources, guidance and experts available. You'll see it's not that complicated, and it's very rewarding.
